Communications planet Mercury turns retrograde on Election Day. This communications snafu cycle was present at the Bush-Gore election. There are several harmonious trines going on in the Nov. 6 chart, so the Florida debacle is not expected. Minor problems are the more likely result.
When looking at an election, there are numerous charts that must be cast, so I shall do my best to inform you but not overload you with information. A chart cast for the founding of the Republican Party gives a Gemini Sun and Libra Moon.
Neptune, with its 165 year cycle, is currently returning to its original position. Neptune is a visionary, so when it comes back to home base, it is not a surprise when a person (or in this case, a political party) is re-visioning itself.
Since Gemini is symbolized by the twins, it is no surprise that they are split within their ranks. On Election Day, lucky Jupiter is moving backwards across the Gemini sun of the Republican Party. This is favorable, but don’t read too much into it until you read on. One thing that can be stated before you turn the page is that it is likely the Republicans will pick up seats in the Senate and add a few governors too.
In past elections, you could easily see the winner in all the charts involved-the actual candidate, the spouse, the Vice President, etc. That is not the case in this election, as the water is muddied. Michelle Obama’s chart looks somewhat better than Ann Romney’s.
VP Biden’s chart looks much better than Paul Ryan’s chart on Election Day. But don’t count Ryan out; his chart looks very good in three years. He isn’t going to fade into talk radio like Sarah Palin.
Spiritual destiny points called the nodes of the moon moved into Scorpio and Taurus in late August. The North Node É in Scorpio is the “stepping up” point. The South Node Ê in Taurus is the “letting go” point.
The North Node is at the very top of Obama’s chart, a good indicator of success. Romney’s chart is a bit more complicated to read. The “stepping up” North Node is sitting on his natal Moon and Jupiter in Scorpio. By itself, this is highly favorable for expand- ing his image in the public eye through service. However, the “letting go” South Node is sitting on his Progressed Sun in Taurus. A progression is an astrologi- cal technique to look at psychological indicators as a person grows older and wiser. This placement suggests he needs to release. It is a bit of a push-pull combination for Romney, and neither point is in a public part of the chart– so I read that as more of a going home combination.
Another indicator is a spiritual Progressed Lunation Cycle, a 29-year indicator of the phase your soul is in. Obama is in a Full Moon phase that originally started in 1997 when he was first elected to Illinois Senate. A full moon is when you demonstrate what you have learned from the beginning of the cycle.
Romney enters the end-of-the-end Balsamic phase of the moon this autumn. This is when you pull within and gather your wisdom from the beginning of the cycle. The beginning of Romney’s cycle was in the mid-1980’s when he started Bain Capital. You want to be a monk when the moon is at the end of a 29-year cycle. This comparison favors Obama.
Mark’s analysis:
President Obama is re-elected.
Just for fun, I like to look at a few key states to see how I do at predicting how a state will vote. I was more right than wrong at the Obama-McCain election, but not the perfect standard I like to hold for myself.
North Carolina: Close call-edge goes to Obama
Ohio: a really close call-edge goes to Obama
Virginia: Romney
Florida: edge goes to Romney
