Pisces, February 19 to March 20

Pisces glyph

  • Symbol: Fish
  • Element: Water
  • Quality: Mutable
  • House: 12th, the Subconsious
  • Planet: Neptune, creativity & intuition
  • Color: Aqua
  • Semi-precious stone: Amethyst

Pisces is the sign of sensitivity and receptivity. They have great compassion, which can be a blessing or a curse. Although it is important to help the downtrodden, it is equally important to help them to stand strongly on their own two feet.

The sign of the fish is considered to be highly intuitive. Pisceans often need to spend time alone to separate their own intuitive feelings from the environment around them. Because of this, it is especially important for Pisces to choose friends and activities that are in harmony with their energy field, or they can become insecure.

The Twelfth House, Subconscious

The Twelfth HouseThe Twelfth House relates to that which is hidden from view. Ruled by Pisces, spiritual practices like meditation, shamanic vision quests, past life regression, dream therapy, psychic development, and hypnotherapy fit into the twelfth house.

This is the place you go for your privacy. It also shows what you would like to hide from the world, but will need to deal with at some time in your life.

For example, Mercury in the twelfth house is often the child who is told that he/she talks too much, so learns to be seen and not heard. However, as the child gets older, they must learn to communicate all over again.

The twelfth house is where we want to escape from the world, and this can include alcoholism, drug addiction, or any time a person lives excessively in their fantasy world.

My Dad's Birthday 12% SALE!

On March 9, my father and favorite Pisces, is celebrating his birthday. He just left me a voicemail telling me, "I really admire your enthusiasm and your creativity, and I'm very very proud of you. I just think you're fabulous, and I'm proud you're my daughter, and I love you very much."

How can I not celebrate my father, who called me "fabulous"?! I want everyone's dad to love them that much, and be willing to express it.

Plus, even though he's an older guy, he's in way better shape than me. He's ridden his bicycle over the Rocky Mountains twice, and sends me pictures of him cross-country skiing & snowshoeing. And to think I'm proud of myself when I walk to the coffee shop...

To celebrate Gary Katz, a fabulous dad of whom I'M very proud, I would like to offer you 12% off your next order (3+9=12). Use code "garysbirthday" to receive your discount. This offer is good until March 31.

Happy birthday, Dad!

Top Five Astro-Events for March

1. Venus enters Aries on March 7 while making several aspects over the next few days, making this (March 7-11) a significant developmental phase in the relationship department. Romantic triangles, the testing of borders within relationships, and the beginning of new relationships are all possible. Aggressive women make their mark, while some may over-shoot.

2. Mars turns direct on the 10th, bringing a return of confidence to Leos, and improving the affairs of the house Leo occupies in your horoscope. Mars remains in Leo until June 7th, suggesting a good window to initiate action and new projects. Recreational activities, creative endeavors, and self-promotion are all favored.

3. Jupiter trines the U.S. Sun on the 14th, ushering in a wave of enthusiasm regarding the nation's affairs. This transit favors Obama, who may see a surge in his poll numbers, but other leaders may step forward now to show the way forward in these difficult times. Those who generate backbiting, dirty or attack-oriented politics fall out of favor.

4. The New Moon on March 15 is conjunct Mercury and Uranus, likely bringing an energetic new start for the coming lunar cycle. A significant political crisis may be in the news, as well as major accidents, explosions, and other sudden and unexpected developments. Also watch for exciting new discoveries, pharmaceutical deals, and announcements from religious or spiritual leaders.

5. The Vernal Equinox on March 20th takes place at 12:33 pm (EST). A horoscope for this moment sets the tone for the next three months, which includes national leadership leading through bipartisanship (Sun opposite Saturn in Libra), government taking on the role of the major provider (Sun square Ceres and Pluto in Capricorn). Ceres' position within these dynamic aspects indicates potential for major humanitarian disasters.

And For Those of You Who Have Read This Far

The Ocean Depths

Usually I'm concerned with looking up into the infinite sky, but I also used to be an enthusiastic scuba diver. I loved going down deep and floating weightless, exploring what couldn't be seen from above. It was my solace for not becoming an astronaut.

So here's a taste of how infinite are the oceans right here on earth...
