Pisces, February 19 to March 20
Pisces glyph

  • Symbol: Fish
  • Element: Water
  • Quality: Mutable
  • House: 12th, the Subconsious
  • Planet: Neptune, creativity & intuition
  • Color: Aqua
  • Semi-precious stone: Amethyst

Pisces is the sign of sensitivity and receptivity. They have great compassion, which can be a blessing or a curse. Although it is important to help the downtrodden, it is equally important to help them to stand strongly on their own two feet.

The sign of the fish is considered to be highly intuitive. Pisceans often need to spend time alone to separate their own intuitive feelings from the environment around them. Because of this, it is especially important for Pisces to choose friends and activities that are in harmony with their energy field, or they can become insecure.

Until Pisceans learn to ground themselves, they can get lost in escapist activities like addictive behavior, unrealistic goals, or relationships that drain energy rather than enhance.

Pisces rules the film industry, photography, the ocean, psychics, monasteries, mystics, dreams, and spiritual practices. In the body, Pisces rules the feet, alcohol/drug/chocolate addictions, and the immune system.

Neptune

Neptune glyphNeptune is the planet that rules Pisces and the 12th House. Neptune governs your creativity, illusions, and spirituality.

To be enlightened, you must first burst through your illusions. Neptune rules intuitive development, filmmaking, musical creativity, and oceanic professions. With Neptune, you go beyond worldly boundaries to merge with the cosmos.

Escapist activities like alcoholism, drug addiction, excessive fantasies (like winning the lottery to fix all your problems), and romanticizing bad relationships are Neptune-ruled.

You must go beyond yourself in order to understand Neptune. With Neptune placed in the second house, a person must find true prosperity consciousness rather than prosperity based solely on material possessions. In the fifth house, you could help children to open to their creativity, or you may get lost in romantic illusions. An eighth house Neptune might be under the fantasy that they will win the lottery.

Neptune helps you to step into a larger part of yourself, a part that is totally connected to your Divine Essence. People with strong Neptune in their charts tend to look beyond religious institutions for their spirituality.

In school kids learn that Pluto is the outermost planet in our solar system, but because Pluto's orbit is so eccentric, it sometimes crosses the orbit of Neptune. This makes Neptune the most distant planet from the Sun for a few years!

Neptune's composition is most likely a small core of rocky material about the mass of the Earth. Its atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium with a small amount of methane. Neptune's blue color is largely the result of absorption of red light by methane in the atmosphere but there is some additional as-yet-unidentified chromophore which gives the clouds their rich blue tint.

Like a typical gas planet, Neptune has rapid winds, the fastest in the solar system, reaching 2000 km/hour.

The Twelfth House, Subconscious

The Twelfth HouseThe Twelfth House relates to that which is hidden from view. Ruled by Pisces, spiritual practices like meditation, shamanic vision quests, past life regression, dream therapy, psychic development, and hypnotherapy fit into the twelfth house.

This is the place you go for your privacy. It also shows what you would like to hide from the world, but will need to deal with at some time in your life.

For example, Mercury in the twelfth house is often the child who is told that he/she talks too much, so learns to be seen and not heard. However, as the child gets older, they must learn to communicate all over again.

The twelfth house is where we want to escape from the world, and this can include alcoholism, drug addiction, or any time a person lives excessively in their fantasy world. In the twelfth house, you need to look at the shadows of your inner being in order to bring forth your connection to the One Source of all that is. This energy can be used positively through contemplative spiritual practice or other forms of self-analysis.

Photography, the ocean, and secret societies are associated with the twelfth house, as are prisons, hospitals, and psychiatric facilities.

"I received my Cancer bracelet today and put it on immediately, I hate to take it off for bed but know that I must.  I also love the
bracelet which has the memory wire .  Received a lot of complements on them both.  I just love wearing them and cannot thank you  enough for the great customer service.  Unbelievable , you put all other companies to shame. Once again thanks for being so patient with me.  When I wear my bracelet I seem to be at peace.  I always find myself touching it and I close my eyes and just take a deep breath and go on.  I will not be able to wear it at work. That is how it got broken in the first place, but I am carrying it in my purse, in a small bag, and as soon as my day is over it goes on...Once again, thanks." Judy, Pawtucket RI

Top Five Astro-Events for March
By WolfStar

1. Venus turns retrograde on the 6th. Traditionally, this six-week phase is unfavorable for starting new relationships or getting married. Women who take charge now will find their efforts backfire or fail completely. Venus makes a prolonged opposition to the U.S. Saturn from the 1st to 11th, creating financial headaches for many U.S. institutions.

2. Uranus opposing the U.S. Neptune on March 9 may bring some new political and financial scandals. Watch for sudden disruptions in foreign relations, especially in Tehran and the Afghan-Pakistani border region. And the American Dream – symbolized by Neptune – is bursting, along with the illusion of an unregulated free market system as the best way to organize society.

3. The Full Moon on March 10 aligns with the ongoing Saturn-Uranus opposition. Any underlying conflict between new programs and more conservative plans reaches a peak. Those with natal planets in this degree area (17º-23º of the mutable signs) are under the most pressure to make radical changes in their lives and to find the balance between consolidation and innovation.

4. Jupiter enters the U.S. fourth house on March 17, and will remain there over the next year. This connection brings some opportunities during a widespread economic downturn, especially for those who can network with friends and allies. Also, the U.S. progressed Moon sextile the U.S. Jupiter on the 27th brings assistance to some of the nation's largest financial corporations.

5. Neptune conjunct the U.S. Moon on March 27 marks the first wave of uncertainty and fear surrounding the mortgage crisis and high unemployment rates. Neptune passes back and forth over the U.S. Moon through November 2010 while accompanied by Chiron, undoubtedly bringing much pain and suffering to those who can least afford it.

 March & April 2009 Horoscopes
by Wandering Star

March & April Events:
Venus in Aries is Retrograde from March 6-April 17, slipping back into Pisces April 11-24 – reexamine your values on relationships, love, and money. It will be hard both to express and experience affection. It will also be difficult to feel financially secure, even if you haven’t been directly affected by the economy. Saturn is still in Retrograde in Virgo, and the structure behind our lives is still undergoing reorganization on the micro level.

Aries
With Venus in Retrograde in your sign during most of March and April, your normal vivacious let’s-get-the-party-started personality may come across more like oh-god-here-they-come-again.  You’ll experience and want to share your heartfelt self-realizations about your emotional patterns, but you may come across as needy instead. Around April Fool’s day, think on your feet and say the right thing at the right moment to talk your way into (or out of!) whatever you want.

Taurus
It’s time to pay attention to your dollars and sense. No, that’s not a typo.  With Venus, your ruler, in retrograde, your sense of security will be enhanced when you take an honest look at your finances.  Your Taurus new moon in April provides the necessary opportunity to put a financial strategy into place. The key is to create a realistic plan and stick to it – this is one of those times where intention isn’t good enough to achieve your goals.

Gemini
You’re going feel the pull between what you want to do and what you need to do. Whether you’re more concerned with love or money (or loving your money), don’t cling to the past. You’re going to be emotionally vulnerable right now, which may be uncomfortable. If your issue with want vs. need involves someone else, you don’t have to have a big confrontation – remember that resolving difficult affairs always alleviates all the distress in the end.

Cancer
Don’t cry over spilt milk – go get the cat.  Don’t cry while cutting onions either – try burning a candle instead. It’s ok to honor your feelings (you have to), but put aside your pain, fear, or upset and focus on the practical and tangible.  If you find yourself dwelling on your lack of money or love, you’re going to come across as needy instead of sensitive, and that’s never attractive. Instead, take a positive action that moves you where you’d rather be.

Leo
Respect is important to you, but you can’t demand your loved ones act the way you want them to. You’re insisting they respect you while you’re disrespecting them. Instead, think about how you can work together towards a common goal that you create as a team. Choose a goal that’s outside your comfort zone, one that would make a difference to everyone involved. You’ll appreciate what you have all the more.

Virgo
What’s truly important, and what’s not? Saturn’s still in retrograde in your sign, to you it seems like no one pays attention to detail, no one cares about efficiency. Well, you’re partially right, but don’t judge them for it. Just like it’s essential to distinguish between a child’s personality and her behavior, please take into consideration that everyone is being forced to transform their lives right now, and everyone is struggling a little.  If this offends your sensibilities, let it slide, and trust that in a couple months you can go back to helping everyone organize the light.

Libra
You idealize your partner…and all of a sudden, you’re going to become conscious of something about them you’ve never noticed before…and you’re not going to be thrilled. How could you have missed that? But get this: it’s you, not them. They’re exactly the same person they’ve always been, and you’re the one with the new deeper awareness. So, what can you do to accept your new perspective and get back into your groove?

Scorpio
If you have a tendency to dominate your relationships, this would be a good time to let yourself in on the secret you’ve been keeping from yourself:  you’re not a genie in a bottle - your wish is not their command.  If a parent or household member offers constructive criticism, control your impulse to ignite a feud.  Your own perception may not be an accurate gauge of reality.

Sagittarius
Torn between your heart and your mind? Your emotions are in turmoil, which is never comfortable turf for you anyway. Why can’t talking be easier? Right now, it’s actually better for you to face up to your challenges than to just glibly pretend everything’s peachy. And, the act of expressing yourself delicately will be much easier than bearing the trepidation of anticipation.

Capricorn
Have some sensitivity in your conversations. Please. Everyone will appreciate it. You know what’s right, you know what to do, and you know how to get it done. But bossing around doesn’t get it done – you just ruffle your flock’s feathers. Genuine leadership nurtures your minions (although you’ve got to quit thinking of them like that). This is particularly true of your family – try listening to each member and repeating back what they say. By attending to them, they may just pay attention to you.

Aquarius
Continue your momentum for exciting change, creativity, growth, and healing. However, many other people are heavily influenced by the Venus Retrograde and will be in their own heads, so if your audience isn’t receptive, don’t take it personally. Keep doing your own work, which will make a difference for everyone in the long run.

Pisces
Watch out for coming across excessively aggressive when dealing with authority figures, overcompensating for your excess sensitivity. Pay close attention to every detail in every aspect of your life – right now, sweating the small things will prepare you for what’s ahead. You’ll be looking for an adrenaline rush, so if you’re a conversationalist be cautious of volatility, and if you ride a motorcycle please wear your helmet.

And For Those of You Who Have Read This Far
The Moon and Dinosaurs
Scientists have shown that the moon is moving away at a tiny, although measurable distance from the earth every year.  If you do the math, you can calculate that 85 million years ago the moon was orbiting the earth at a distance of about 35 feet from the earth's surface. This would explain the death of the dinosaurs...the tallest ones, anyway.
