The Moon
The Moon embodies your feelings and emotions. Just as the moon cycles in phases around the earth, so too are your emotions likely to go through phases. If you know the house that your natal moon falls in, you will know what area of your life is likely to go through phases.
The Moon is the ruling planet of the sign Cancer in the fourth house. The moon is associated with the mother, nurturing, family, and your ability to tap into the feelings of others
.

The Fourth House, Home Life
The Fourth House represents home, family, parenting, traditions, and your general attitude about where & how you live. Because the fourth house is Cardinal or "angular," its emotional
undercurrents can become quite complicated. The 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th
houses are action-oriented and add to the complex dynamics of your
chart.
Ruled by Cancer, it is the place of seeking emotional security.

Top Five Astro-Events for July
1. Hardworking Mars conjoins Saturn in conscientious, dutiful Virgo
on July 10. The Mars-Saturn cycle is a major political factor driving
opposing forces to come together, often creating historical turning
points. This conjunction is especially powerful since it activates
power points in the charts of today's most prominent politicians,
including George Bush, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain.
2. Transiting Chiron squares the U.S. Vesta on July 18, indicating that
the problem with major investment and banking houses continues through
July. This is the second of Chiron's three squares to the U.S. Vesta,
which began in March as Bear Stearns collapsed. Chiron's passage
through the U.S. fourth house (along with Neptune) implicates the
slumping housing market.
3. The Full Moon on July 18 is accompanied by Ceres and Mercury in
Cancer and Jupiter in Capricorn, which are all great celestial
companions for any family vacation or shared traveling experience.
Relationships between parents and children are harmonized under this
influence, which includes a spirit of generosity and open-mindedness.
4. Uranus opposes the U.S. Neptune, exact on July 21, but a major
influence all month. Uranus, the planet of shock and unwelcome
surprises, has been aligned with the U.S. Neptune for several months
now, as the corresponding escalation of oil prices has weighed heavily
on the economy. This alignment might also bring a major scandal or two.
5. The U.S. Progressed Moon forms a quincunx to natal Pluto on July 23,
and is a major factor in American politics through most of July. This
important dynamic reflects a marshaling of American power in a variety
of ways, including military, economic, and diplomatic - all in response
to emerging crises.

Alicia Turns 40!
On Thursday, July 3, at 1:19pm, Alicia will turn 40!
Many people have asked me, with trepidation, how I feel about it. And they've been surprised to see me grin and hear me say that I'm looking forward to it! "Really?" they ask.
Well, yes! Turning 30 was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. When I turned 30, I finally knew what I liked and didn't like in my world. I had no patience for bad energy. I no longer had time for people who didn't love and support me, or move me in a direction I wanted to go. And the activities and people that made me happy, those I welcomed.
Now, at 40, I found a "wonderfool" husband, live in a beautiful house, and have two gorgeous, smart babies. I love my work, both my jewelrymaking and my computer training. My friends are fun. I go to a lot of festivals and love live music.
I have no doubt that I manifested all of this over the last 10 years, through living with integrity, and living in integrity with what's right for me. And in my 40s, I look forward to deeping my relationships with my family and friends, and with myself. My goal for when I turn 50 is to have my foundation solid for the last half of my life, and to be able to provide for my children.
How could that be bad? Why do people dread growing older? Why be sad that I may have fewer future days than past days, if that's going to make me enjoy those fewer days less? If, instead, I treasure every moment of my life, then my 50th, 60th, and 70th birthdays will be a treat because they'll mark successful achievement and growth.
I hope you're still with Wandering Star 10 years from now so you can check in with me again at 50!
Alicia on the Radio: Psychiconair.com!

Summer Solstice 2008
This year’s summer solstice happened on June 22, 2008 at 7:59 PM EDT. Set for our nation’s capital, the Cancer Sun sits in the chart’s 7th house, the slice that represents one on one relationships. Keep in mind that these do not have to be “soul mates”, as the 7th is ALL one on one partnerships, be they in business, romance or, on the mundane level, between one nation and another. Keep in mind, too, that not all relationships are “friendly”, and that the 7th House is also the House of open enemies, i.e. the ones you know are enemies. That, too, is a partnership.
The 7th House itself has Gemini on the cusp, suggesting that the focus on relationships will likely be multiple. While we may want to focus on one relationship, we’re going to be impelled to focus on several, perhaps just one at a time. Multi-tasking seems to be a good phrase for what we’re going to be needing to do, since it will be a period in which we’re asked to become more aware of all of our interactions with individuals (or individual nations.)
Pluto has gone retrograde, and has crept back into Sagittarius for awhile. He moved into Capricorn on Jan. 25th (east coast), but apparently has some more to say about matters Sagittarian. We’re not done with his pressure to change/purge/transform areas such as religious institutions, and our desire to ignore the here and now in favor of wondering what lies over the next hill. Some things this might involve are continued examination and revelations about organized religious groups activities that might be diametrically opposed to the teaching of those groups, and further examination of our desire to “fix” things “over there” before we have our own houses / lives in good order. The crumbling infrastructure in our nation is clearly suffering from a lack of funds, new natural disasters needing humanitarian aid are in the news and New Orleans is still decimated, while our government spends upward of $12 billion a month on foreign wars of debatable merit. As citizens, we need to carefully examine these issues, and make our conclusions known to those who run the country.
On the personal level, the same energy pushes us to re-evaluate our projections on our “partners”. How do our personal religious / philosophical feelings impact our relationships? Are they positive and nurturing or our relationships (the Sun is, of course, in Cancer!), or are they narrow and constricting? Pluto wants us to look these things over -- again -- and make any necessary changes.
Back into the mundane arena, looking at the Solstice in relationship to the US chart, the Solstice Moon is conjunct the nation’s Pluto (any July 4, 1776 chart), repeating the theme that the people need to review these issues. The Solstice Chiron and Neptune are conjunct the nation’s moon (the people, in mundane), suggesting the possibility of some sort of healing, but also potential confusion and deception (self-deception?) that might get in the way.
And the Solstice Sun is in the 8th House (2:21 PM chart) bringing a continued focus on how our nation deals with not just the transformational issues of “death and taxes”, but how we deal with the resource of our “partners.” Does oil come to mind as a resource of some of our partners? The Solstice Pluto falls in this chart’s 2nd House, the nation’s resources and what the nation, as a whole, might deem valuable. Pluto is often linked to oil, and, indeed, much or our economy is critically dependent on it. It’s clearly time to rethink that! And that process is, of course, already in motion. One example -- Chrysler is closing four truck / SUV plants due to poor sales, and is considering shutting down or selling off the Hummer brand (I presume only the civilian version).
While the Solstice chart doesn’t speak directly to the fact that this is, of course, a Presidential election year for us, the messages of re-evaluation of our nation’s interactions on the world scene have a direct bearing. Everything is life is interconnected, and astrology can help us to see it in a perspective that we might not otherwise see it, by providing a broader picture for us. If we take this time to consider what is important to us as individuals and as a nation, and put the effort into understanding the impact of our actions on each other and on the rest of the world, we’ll be better equipped to make positive and constructive choices this fall.
