| Last month, in Prague, Czech Republic,
424 members of the General Assembly of the 2006 International
Astronomical Union ruled that Pluto was no longer a planet.
Wandering Star readers took their own vote.
30 of our 3000 subscribers wrote in to declare that Pluto,
indeed, had a place of honor in our jewelry. Here's what you
had to say:
"I think you should keep Pluto in the bracelet. I think
it’s silly to take away a planet that has been a part
of the solar system longer than we’ve been here."
Leah
"I am voting to keep Pluto in your jewelry item(s)
as Pluto's influence in the universe (including all life
forms therein) is still in effect; regardless of what a
minority of world astrologers have already voted and decided
upon." Suzanne
From an astrologer: "Yes, that nasty
third condition… doesn’t really apply to
any of the planets. One of the members noted Jupiter’s
problem and the conference chair said that it was covered
by the footnote to rule c: 'The planets are Mercury, Venus,
Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.' The
first member retorted, 'Then why don’t we get rid
of the definition and just keep the footnote?!'
Maybe, for the first time, I’ll side with the astrologers.
You probably have as good a definition of planets as anyone!"
Rob
"Keep it! Methinks Pluto is gonna need the extra
love after this one!" Michelle
"Keep Pluto's bead on the bracelet and let it guard
the secret of its true identity." Leah
"I was going to email you and say I thought the vote
about Pluto was once again a vote to disown the shadow.
I decided to go and see what Caroline Casey had to say.
She is wonderfully articulate in expressing this. Check
it out. http://www.visionaryactivism.com/."
Katherine
"I vote to keep the Pluto bead. I know what it is
like to be considered a small woman and have even been called
short! I have never thought of myself as short because my
aura is so big (hee-hee)! Please let Pluto stay. It's not
fair. Size doesn't matter. May Goddess Bless your Socks
off!" Miluna
"I vote YES, it's always been, and it's not going
anywhere. Maybe they can force the school books to change
their wording; but my opinion is that God put the planets,
stars and "rocks" where they are for a purpose,
he leaves nothing to chance and it will remain there until
he decides to do otherwise...nothing has changed except
for what a group of scientist define as a planet, they're
not God, and their words don't change the universe,it's
meaning... or the significance of PLUTO." Monica
"My vote says, "keep Pluto in". I
purchased my birth
chart necklace and earings (mars) at the ISAR conference
in Illinois. I love my unique piece of jewelry and
to think of pluto missing from the mix doesn't feel right.
I enjoy reading your newsletter, thanks so much for the
interesting and fun information! Peace and Joy, Lucy
