The Houses

Every Astrology Chart is divided up into twelve houses. These relate to the everyday activities in our lives. Each planet and zodiac sign falls somewhere in these twelve areas, determining your specific outlook on different areas of life. The first six are your personal realm, and the last six express who you are in the world.

The First House describes your outward behavior. It involves your disposition, appearance, manners, and sense of self.

The Second House deals with possessions and your attitude towards the material world.

The Third House contains your siblings, education, communication, and self-expression.

The Fourth House is, in fact, your home. This house determines your relationship to parenting and your private life.

The Fifth House is pleasure. It is creativity, affections, and play.

The Sixth House rules work and your attitude towards service. It also is involved with your health and well-being.

The Seventh House relates to relationships of both a business and personal nature. It determines your experiences with marriage and partnership.

The Eighth House embodies the life-cycle of birth and death. This includes legacies and fortunes.

The Ninth House extends into exploration, whether it be of personal philosophy or of the world.

The Tenth House determines matters affecting your career, social standing, and aspirations.

The Eleventh House influences friends, intellectual pleasures, socializing, and attitude towards society.

The Twelfth House relates to your unconscious, escapism, and need for seclusion. This house is your deepest personal realm.
