you can return next week! For the week of April 19, 1999 NewsScopeby WolfStarSaturn and Neptune Muddle into
War NewsScope readers have been advised of this pending war for over a year due to Saturn’s entry into the U.S. seventh house of Open Enemies. In less than a month Saturn will officially enter the U.S. seventh house,* a cyclical process that resonates with the Vietnam War and World War II which were the previous two times that Saturn visited this house. Saturn’s passage is tempered by a square to Neptune in Aquarius, the sign governing alliances. Following Neptune’s symbolism, Saturn’s push toward open conflict is muddied by false hopes, illusions, and just plain bad planning. Pentagon officials were operating under the assumption that Milosevic would cave as soon as the air war commenced, and this has proved to be a false hope. In this regard, the air campaign resembles the slow escalation of Vietnam. The Pentagon, perhaps applying the mistakes of Vietnam, wants to secure the cooperation from European allies and U.S. public opinion. Because of this, the Clinton Administration is sticking to the strategy of no ground troops which would fracture NATO and public opinion. Last week a relentless Mars retrograded into this dynamic between Saturn and Neptune, testing the NATO alliance with the cost of military miscalculations. We may have to wait until the week Mars turns direct (June 4) before the Clinton Administration officially sanctions the need for ground troops, or announces a realistic plan for the Balkan crisis. The International Community Takes
Shape However, Neptune’s idealistic vision falls by the wayside without some grounding, something solid to grapple with and shape. Milosevic is that irritant, and virtually everyone in Europe and across the global village realizes that something must be done. Out of the evil of Milosevic comes the manifestation of something increasingly referred to as the International Community. The primary police force within the International Community is NATO, a development arising from the inefficiencies of the United Nations. Simultaneously, the War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague (Netherlands) is pushing for solid evidence of genocidal practices in Kosovo, and warned that there is no statute of limitations on War Crimes. In a parallel development reiterating and focusing the cosmic message of last week’s planets, a visiting Chinese dignitary agreed to an unusual number of concessions so that China could join the 134 member club of capitalist nations, the World Trade Organization. Neptune in Aquarius, shaped by Saturn in financial, security-oriented Taurus, moved the peoples of the world into international economic, military, and legal systems. Shields-Agassi Defaults The glamour couple ran up against an astrological barrier which proved insurmountable. Agassi was born on April 29, 1970 with a Sun-Saturn conjunction in Taurus, a combination that instills a strong sense of personal responsibility and need for control. Now that Saturn is returning to its original zodiacal location, Agassi is undergoing a reality check on his playful, roving Gemini planets (Venus and Mars). Meanwhile, Brooke Shields is getting a heavy dose of the serious side of life as transiting Pluto opposes her whimsical Gemini Sun. Shields was born (May 31, 1965) during the major outer planet line-up that triggered the Sixties social unrest. With her Gemini Sun squaring Saturn on the one side, and Uranus on the other, she can flip-flop unexpectedly under pressure, especially the kind that transiting Pluto applies. Astrologers looking at their two charts would notice that her Sun-Uranus square is exactly aligned with his Lunar Node axis, a karmic situation demanding tremendous personal space to succeed. Transiting Pluto and Juno, the marriage asteroid, are now conjunct in these same degrees, triggering the split. These two superstars represent the classic struggle between personal freedom (Uranus) and the need for total loyalty to each other (Pluto-Juno). * Be sure to visit the new Political Astrology web site (at http://www.homestead.com/politicalastrology/index.html) which presents the US horoscope and other key players in the International Community.
