ABOUT THE SUN

Sun

The Sun is the largest body in our Solar System and therefore defines the dominant traits of your personality according to the zodiac sign it falls in. Newspaper horoscopes focus on the Sun sign, but it is only one of ten planets that influence your astrology chart. The sun and moon are called planets in order to make conversations easier.

The Sun is your basic life force, vigor, and vitality. It defines why you get out of bed in the morning. The Sun drives you to express your heart’s desire in this life. While an Aquarius may want to revolutionize the ideals of the world, a Taurus may want to have a tangible and long-lasting impact upon the world. Aquarius opens you to innovative possibilities; Taurus wants to build a house make those ideas workable in the world.

The Sun represents leadership traits, how you express your power, pride in your accomplishments, and self-confidence. As you might imagine, negative traits of an afflicted Sun are excessive pride, undue need for recognition, and misuse of power. Used positively, you are a dynamo who brings forth your unique Divine Essence in service to planet earth.

The Sun is associated with your heart, spine and upper back. It is associated with both the color and metal gold. The house placement of the Sun indicates an area of life where you can let your light shine. The Sun is the ruling planet of Leo in the fifth house.

ABOUT THE 5th HOUSE

Fifth House, pleasure

The Fifth House, governed by Leo, represents children, romance, creativity, vacations, and pleasure. It includes the love you instinctively show the world.

With the fifth house, it is time to have fun. The zodiac sign on the fifth house cusp can give you hints about the way you like to have fun:

A practical sign like Capricorn may turn a fun hobby into a business. It may also indicate a person who does not have children, or holds off on children until they are a bit older in life. Capricorn fifth house people may not be big gamblers, instead preferring conservative risks.

As another example, Cancer on the fifth house cusp may take great enjoyment in playing with children. They also may have difficulty letting go when it is time to end a relationship.

A strong 5th house represents a person who loves to play and doesn't let the little things get them down. A challenged 5th house may indicate self-indulgence and "loose" behavior.

This house is one of the places in the astrology chart that calls you to take a risk on yourself. Whether it is showing the world your creative talents, opening your heart to the possibility of romance, or hitting the blackjack tables in Las Vegas, it's up to you to to open to your passionate nature.

Saturn in Leo

On July 16, 2005, Saturn moved from Cancer to Leo. This is significant because it will be there until September 2007!

Leo is characterized by creativity, optimism, friendliness, passion, and pride. Leo writes the play, acts, and directs (if possible, all three at once!). The downside is that Leo thinks the world revolves around them. Read more about Leo here.

Saturn is the planet of our issues, barriers, and concerns. It's also the planet that provides structure and discipline to our lives. Saturn has a ominous reputation in the astrological world, but from a practical standpoint, it's necessary.

Just like putting your kids to bed every night at the same time prevents them from having overtired meltdowns, working with your Saturn allows to you embrace your problems so that you can master your life instead of being a victim of it. Read more about Saturn here.

When Saturn is in Leo, it's in its detriment. Before the discovery of Uranus, Saturn was the ruling planet of Aquarius. Since Leo is opposite Aquarius, Saturn is therefore in a position of weakness. It's much like your tarot card appearing upside down - you're getting a challenged interpretation.

So what will Saturn in Leo mean for us over the next two years? I'm afraid I don't have good news for you - it's going to be less than fun. Look forward to your simple pleasures being challenged. You may have less free time. Your self-expression may be limited. Your hobbies may be left behind. You may feel isolated.

Economically, it's a time of frugality instead of extravagance.Your workplace may restructure, cutting back staff or supplies. Use conservative investment strategies instead of risky ones.

Politically, Leo is the zodiac sign of leadership, and Saturn refers to justice and responsibility. Julie Gillentine writes, "The highest expression of this combination is a truly wise leader, ruling from a compassionate heart. The same energy directed unconsciously can result in heavy-handed and overbearing autocracy due to a misdirected sense of pride and drive for power. The extreme result of Saturn in Leo is a selfish and autocratic dictator." Hopefully, after crawling into a shell for two years, us citizens will come out roaring if we don't believe our leadership is representing our views.

To counter limitations imposed on your happiness, find things you enjoy that have practical value. Cook delicious meals for your friends. Intentionally put structure into your life: schedule time to write or exercise for 30 minutes every day.

All in all, use the next two years to get down to the bones of what makes you satisfied with life. Know that if the universe hands you more than you think you can handle, it only did so to prove to you that you're greater than you knew.

Learn Astrology: Sextiles

Aspects

In an Astrology Chart, the planets have an additional dimension. Their geometric angles to each other also influence your personality.

Aspects represent stresses, tensions, and harmonious relationships between the different parts of your life. A challenging aspect between two planets can motivate you to accomplish great things in life, or you can hide under the covers. Harmonious aspects can help you to express life creatively; or, you can get lazy because the planets involved flow so easily that you decide to just kick back and do nothing. All astrology charts have a combination of challenging and harmonious aspects.

SextileSextiles
A mini-trine is called a sextile. Measuring 60 degrees apart, or 1/6 of a circle, a sextile represents planets that are two signs away from each other. Fire and Air signs are in sextile, as are Earth and Water signs.

This is a harmonious relationship between planets, but not as strong as a trine. Two planets in Sextile have an easy flow of energy between them. They indicate areas of attraction, self-expression, and opportunity. However, you need to consciously pay attention to the two planets involved in a sextile in order to get the most benefit from them.

For example, many people who were born in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s had Neptune in Libra sextile Pluto in Leo, meaning that Neptune was two signs away from Pluto and within an orb of influence that was near 60 degrees apart. Ultimately, this sextile helped an entire generation to open to higher ideals.

A "Grand Sextile" is when six planets line up, creating a Star of David. This happened during the Harmonic Concordance in 2003.

Cool Customer Quotes

"I got the package today and the jewelry is awesome. My sister also has one coming; she should be getting hers tomorrow. I got mine for a gift for my girlfriend and she is going to go nuts.

"My sister is the one that told me about it, and once I saw it I was like, 'I have to get it for her! It is so unique that she will never get anything else like it.' Just amazing. Thanks a ton." Trenton O., Emporia KS

Your Leo 3-D crystal keychain will delight you every time you enter your car or home.

Each keychain is about 1 inch tall and 1/2 inch thick.

The three-dimensional image within the solid crystal is created using a scientific laser. It penetrates the crystal without damaging the surface, creating thousands of miniature dots within, forming a unique 3D design. When viewed from any angle, the design looks like a sculpture.
