Enron Fabricated California Energy Crisis
Last week federal regulators released several internal Enron memos explaining
exactly how California energy crisis was artificially created. Using trading
strategies with secretive code names like Fat Boy, Load Shift and Death Star,
Enron fraudulently manipulated the California energy market to cause periodic
rolling black outs, soaring energy prices, and bankrupting California
utilities.
The complete Enron debacle is tightly linked to the astrological cycle of
Saturn and Pluto, which due to retrograde phases makes three exact
oppositions over the course of a year. The rolling blackouts began early in
2001, and weren't brought under control until early summer when transiting
Saturn and Pluto made their first opposition. Saturn turned retrograde in
September and formed its second opposition to Pluto in October 2001. This
phase closely corresponded to Enron's implosion.
We are now in the midst of the third and final opposition, as the ugly truth
about Enron's predatory practices is emerging. In the Scorpio Rising U.S.
horoscope, Saturn and Pluto are creating stress between the second and eighth
houses, the financial houses. The Saturn-Pluto keyword "restructuring"
describes what politicians are attempting to do to reign in greedy, maverick
corporations like Enron.
During the entire Enron scandal, transiting Neptune has been simultaneously
squaring the Scorpio Ascendant, a major transit that continues right through
the November 2002 elections. This indicates that the regulations required to
control (restructure) the capitalist system will be key issues in the coming
elections. However, with a prominent Neptune, the issues will be veiled with
smoke and mirrors.
Spiderman Connects with American Psyche
As Americans in record-setting numbers are coming out to see Spider-Man,
Hollywood wags are explaining the phenomenon with brilliant marketing
strategies and sweeping distribution to 7,500 screens. However, the
connections between Spider-Man and the 9-11 events are not superficial. Both
take place in New York City, and both feature a power-mad, super-destructive
aristocrat: the Green Goblin and Osama bin Laden.
Spider-Man is played by actor Tobey Maguire (June 27, 1975; Santa Monica, CA;
time unknown), a mild-mannered Cancer with his Moon in altruistic Aquarius.
This Sun-Moon blend is the same in the U.S. chart, which was also born with
the Sun in Cancer and Moon in Aquarius. Clearly, something about this fantasy
figure is striking a deep chord in the national psyche.
Maguire's Sun in Cancer squares Pluto, an apt description for his personal
family's early disintegration, as well as for the homeless orphan Peter
Parker (Spidey's mundane identity). Yet Pluto carries with it the seeds for
regeneration, and as Peter Parker transformed into Spider-Man, so Maguire has
suddenly catapulted to superstar status. Maguire's Mars-Chiron conjunction in
Aries is perfectly suited to portray the wounded hero archetype, and is how
Americans at this point in history enjoy seeing themselves.
Americans identify with Spider-Man because he is the hapless romantic
aspiring to overcome hopeless situations, and willing to climb straight up
walls to get what he wants. Maguire's Sun is exactly aligned with the U.S.
Jupiter, so that he personifies the national opportunities for personal gain
as well as Jupiter's need for justice over evil. Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man
reflects Americans' faith in overcoming the catastrophe of the World Trade
Center.
Seattle Slew, The End of an Era
Last Tuesday, twenty-five years to the day after he won the Kentucky Derby,
the famed thoroughbred Seattle Slew died in his stall. The 1977 Triple Crown
winner retired early, but as a stallion his earnings were well into the tens
of millions with stud fees ranging up to $300,00 per mare. The rare
combination of being both a superstar racer and a superstar stud made this
horse a legend.
Seattle Slew was foaled on February 15, 1974 (Lexington, KY; time unknown)
when the Sun was conjunct magnificent Jupiter. This very favorable alignment
is dramatically enhanced by a trine to Saturn in Gemini and another trine to
Uranus in Libra, making a lucky Grand Trine. Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus are
the three business planets, reflecting Seattle Slew's exalted breeding status.
The Grand Trine can be a source of laziness unless other planets challenge,
and in this case competitive Mars squares the Sun and Jupiter. Mars energizes
the Grand Trine, making Slew an indomitable fighter. Mars also trines Venus,
perhaps explaining why his sperm lasts five days while others' last only two
days. Last year at the ripe old age of 27 (the equivalent of a 90+ year old
man) he had 43 of 46 mares in foal.
While many horses may have similar fortuitous planets, Seattle Slew became an
American champion because of the close connections between his horoscope and
the U.S. national horoscope. The U.S. Moon is exactly conjunct Seattle Slew's
Sun-Jupiter, giving him the inside track as the popular favorite. The
connection to the Moon also suggests the dynasty he founded. So far* Seattle
Slew has sired 1066 foals, 102 of them stakes winners.
* Seattle Slew will be producing offspring for months after his death since
some mares are still carrying his progeny.
