Israel and the Saturn-Pluto Cycle
As events heat up in the Middle East, the entire military-political process
can be seen as a natural expression of a major outer planet cycle. The late
political astrologer Charles Harvey explained the method, one that holds for
both the individual and the nation: "If you really want to understand your
place in the universe, you need to understand the cycle of which you are a
part."
Israel was born as a nation (May 14, 1948) as the outer planets Saturn and
Pluto were forming a conjunction. It was the end of one 33-year cycle and the
beginning of a new 33-year cycle. The most recent Saturn-Pluto conjunction of
1982 initiated the first major confrontation between Arafat and Sharon during
the Israeli invasion into Lebanon. Sharon has recently lamented that he
should have killed Arafat then when he had the chance.
Also in 1982 the Arab League recognized the PLO, and consequently Arafat, as
the legitimate authority of the Palestinian people. The next turn of the
Saturn-Pluto cycle was in 1993 which culminated in the historic agreement and
handshake between Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin on the White House lawn. Sharon
participated in the negotiations, but refused to shake Arafat's hand and was
against that agreement, and all other agreements with the PLO.
Now we are at the next phase of the Saturn-Pluto cycle, the opposition. Not
coincidentally, both Sharon (February 27, 1928) and Arafat (August 27, 1929)
were born when Saturn and Pluto were forming an aspect to each other (an
inconjunction), indicating that their personal lives would be most responsive
to the Saturn-Pluto cycle.
Mars Defines the Red Zones

United States. Currently Uranus is forming a volatile, four-month opposition
to Israel's Mars. The additional influence of transiting Mars forming a
square to transiting Uranus on the one hand, and another square to Israel's
Mars on the other has inflamed the situation to the point where President
Bush has seen the need to send in Colin Powell (April 5, 1937).
Mars enters Gemini on April 13 at 1:36 pm EDT, an ominous astrological
entrance into the Saturn-Pluto opposition which takes place in Gemini and
Sagittarius. Powell will have his hands full since as Mars enters Gemini it
will oppose his own Mars in early Sagittarius.
Saturn and Pluto form their exact opposition on May 25, but Mars energizes
that dynamic a bit earlier, between May 1 and May 10 when the most lethal
events may occur. We can assume the U.S. will dramatically expand its role
since transiting Jupiter is on the U.S. Sun and Bush's as well. However,
before those dates, one date in particular stands out as being especially
perilous.
On April 23* Mars hits a vital degree in the U.S. Scorpio Rising horoscope,
promising an explosive event of some kind. Whatever manifests may occur as
early as April 19 since this is a traditional day for massive attacks
(Oklahoma City, Waco), and concurrently Jupiter opposes Chiron. April 19-23
are days of extreme danger for U.S interests and carry a high risk for major
industrial accidents, transportation disasters and terrorist events.
Chelsea Clinton Blossoms
The former first daughter is turning heads in London. Sporting a new
hairstyle and stylish clothes, Chelsea Clinton was recently voted the fifth
most eligible woman in Britain, and has been seen hobnobbing with Madonna,
Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey and other celebrities. Chelsea also has a new
love and constant companion, Ian Klaus, a Rhodes scholar at Oxford.
Chelsea Clinton was born a trendy Pisces (February 27, 1980; 11:24 pm; Little
Rock, AK) with her Moon in flashy Leo. Since she has Venus in adventurous
Aries forming close aspects to all four of the outer planets, astrologers
could easily say it'd only be a matter of time before this young woman spread
her wings. Venus is also conjunct Ceres, showing the influence Chelsea's
mother has on her style and fierce independence.
Over the last year transiting Uranus has entered her fourth house, a phase
that often leads to leaving home to develop a more universal sense of family.
Also transiting Saturn has been squaring her fourth house Sun, indicating
additional problems and issues between her and her parents. Saturn has moved
on, and now she's in a most delightful phase involving her Venus.
Venus by secondary progression is just entering her seventh house, the house
of the general public and partners. Over the next six months her progressed
Venus makes favorable aspects to three of the four major asteroids, gifting
her with political awareness (Pallas), close companionship (Juno), and
dedication to her calling (Vesta). All these goddess powers are expressed
through Venus, making her a blossoming beauty.
* Astrology students should note that transit Mars triggers the conjunction
between the US progressed Moon and progressed Uranus at six degrees Gemini.
This same degree gains relevance as the midpoint between the US Saturn and
Pluto, resonating with the ongoing opposition between Saturn and Pluto.
