Love Bug Virus Spreads

A computer virus dubbed the Love Bug spread rapidly across the global
internet last week, sabotaging millions of personal, corporate and government
computers. Computer security systems braced for at least seven mutations of
the malicious program over the weekend, while antivirus software was being
rapidly deployed.

The comparison of internet vandalism to an infectious disease works well to
describe the public danger, and is especially relevant from an astrological
perspective. When the planet of sudden crisis, Uranus, is in the social sign
of Aquarius, the potential threat comes in the form of rapidly spreading
social problem. The risk has become extra high now since transiting Uranus is
nearing the U.S. Aquarius Moon, located in the fourth house of domestic
security.

Looking back into history, the last time transiting Uranus was conjunct the
U.S. Moon was during World War I. The open interaction of millions of
soldiers helped escalate a severe influenza bug into a pandemic that killed
over 21 million people around the world. The first U.S. case was reported in
New York on August 27, 1918, a day that corresponds to the precise
conjunction of transiting Uranus to the U.S. Moon.

The U.S. Moon currently is receiving additional astrological pressure from
transiting Saturn and Jupiter. Although it's getting close, transiting Uranus
won't be conjunct the U.S. Moon for another two years. At the moment,
Jupiter's square this June 9 followed by Saturn's square on June 20
circumscribes an immediate danger zone for American epidemics, whether that
be from infected emails or actual infectious diseases.

National Security Threatened by Planetary Alignment

Smug news analysts wrote off last week's seven-planet alignment in Taurus
with comments like "The world didn't end" and "The dog that didn't bark."
While novice astrologers who filter their reality through the gloomy lens of
biblical prophecy were certainly proven to be in error, the political
astrologer could hardly say that nothing significant happened.

National security advisers take the computer virus seriously, especially now
that the U.S. horoscope has seven planets in the seventh house of Open
Enemies. Saturn in Taurus is the centerpiece to this over-weighted zodiac
zone. The 29-year cycle of Saturn in the seventh house has previously brought
Americans a quagmire in Vietnam, and a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in
1941.

On October 1, 1999 the Pentagon created a cyberwarfare center in Colorado to
facilitate attack and counterattack operations in cyberspace. This new post
began operations when transiting Saturn was in the U.S. seventh house and
exactly square the Midheaven. In addition, the FBI has a top secret division
known as the NIPC (National Infrastructure Protection Center) which works
with the military in the event of attack on American systems.

In related news, the Russian parliament ratified the START II Treaty, and is
seeking to implement a START III Treaty as soon as possible. These treaties
radically reduce the nuclear missile stockpiles, but at the dawning of the
age of cyberwarfare, nuclear missiles are becoming obsolete. American
cyber-warriors assisted NATO in the war in Kosovo by hacking into
Yugoslavia's air defense system and President Milosevic's bank accounts.

Drew Carey: Actor, Writer and Closet Mystic

Actor and comedian Drew Carey played the lead in Walt Disney's Geppetto last
Sunday, a surprising dramatic stretch from his normal role as the zany office
drone in the Drew Carey Show. Carey was also a top-winning contestant in
ABC's celebrity version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" and his book
"Dirty Jokes and Beer: Stories of the Unrefined" is now a bestseller.

Drew Carey was born a multi-talented, friendly Gemini (on May 23, 1958;
Cleveland OH, 7:00 pm*) with dead-pan Scorpio Rising. The Moon in
warm-hearted Leo makes him a natural to host and produce the popular "Whose
Line is it Anyway?"

Astrologer Noel Tyl considers a horoscope's closest square to be the best
vocational indicator, and in Carey's case this hypothesis works out
perfectly. His Mercury square Uranus describes someone with a lightning quick
wit, and a mind flashing with spontaneity and original ideas. The square
tends to make one unconventional, often disconnected or impatient, and prone
to tactless statements. For a humorist, these qualities become the source of
his wonderful ability to tickle the funny bone.

Carey has an understated sensitive, caring side which emerges in roles like
Geppetto or when he donated his $250,000 "Millionaire" winnings to an Ohio
university library. Mars in Pisces, plus the Moon and Mercury both linked to
his twelfth house Neptune make him a closet mystic and prophet.
