The seventh planet in our solar system, Uranus's unique claim to fame is that its axis runs from side-to-side and so it rotates vertically! It also has rings, though fainter than Saturn's. Many of its 21 moons are named after Shakespeare characters.
Uranus is Aquarius's Ruling Planet, which means it is at its greatest strength when it falls in Aquarius or in the 11th House.

What is Venus Retrograde?
When an astrologer announces that a planet is turning retrograde, the next sound is usually a loud groan from the audience. In astrology, retrogrades are considered troublesome, similar to an upside-down card in a tarot reading.
A planet turning retrograde is an optical illusion that the planet is moving backwards. Because all the planets orbit at different rates, when they pass each other, it looks as though the planet is moving backwards across the sky. If you've ever been on a train when a faster train passes you going in the same direction, and you momentarily feel like you are moving backwards, you've experienced retrograde.
Approximately every 18 months, Venus goes into retrograde for about 40 days. Expect misunderstandings with your loved ones, and power struggles at home and at work. |

Venus Retrograde, Dec 24 to Feb 3
From December 24 to February 3, Venus, the planet of love and beauty, is moving backwards through Aquarius.
Some of the things you may experience during this period are:
- Insecurity, even with people who love you unconditionally
- An unusual coldness with your partner
- Taking on responsibility for a family member
- Frustration with your coworkers
- Struggles for power and control
Basically, during this time, you may not be "feeling the love", or being generous and patient yourself.
If you've been thinking about splitting up a relationship that is no longer healthy, this could be a good time to do it.
On the other hand, if a normally fulfilling relationship seems to be fading, JUST WAIT - you're in a phase and no drastic action should be taken.
So what should you do? MaryJean Kidd offers this good advice: "If we become discontent and nothing appears to bring us happiness, we may need to get back in touch with our sensual, creative, beautiful, self-loving nature and begin to express it in more conscious ways. This is a time to re-identify what it is we value in life and how we manifest those values in the world."
Let's look at Venus Retrograde in Aquarius from an international perspective. For example, even though the elections in Iraq were supposed to bring peace, violence has escalated. In Basra, religious Shiites are taking revenge on former members of the Baath party - Iraqis killing Iraqis.
So, for the next few weeks, show those around you that you love them, take care of yourself, and wait until the bad mood passes!
