Cleanse Your Jewelry

After wearing your Astrology jewelry for a few months, the gemstones absorb your energy. After a year, your bracelet or necklace is chock full of your experiences and memories.

Before the Spring equinox on March 21 and the beginning of the new astrological year, we recommend "cleansing" your jewelry of the buildup. Try any of these methods:

  • Smudge the jewelry with sage; the smoke acts as a cleanser. We offer handwrapped Zodiac smudge bundles for extra "oOHMph", and your local metaphysical store will carry sage as well.
  • Leave your jewelry outside for a day and night under a full moon (the next full moons are March 6 and April 5).
  • Bury the jewelry in unrefined sea salt for 24 hours.
  • Freeze the jewelry in a your freezer for 24 hours.

We occasionally get messages from customers whose jewelry has broken or falls off. We actually find meaning in this: maybe your jewelry isn't in the right configuration for you! For example, maybe your Empowerment bracelet has done its job, and it's ready to become an Ideas into Action alignment instead! We will restring into your new direction for just $15 to $25, including shipping! Please call us at 800-WSTAR-AJ for more information.

Letters to the Editor

"I sure hope you aren't taking that link that you provided about the change of color in the Mars photos seriously (Mission to Mars, Aquarius 2004).

There are NO color cameras on space probes. There are cameras that take photos of specific frequencies of light (including many non-visible frequencies). NASA takes this data and creates "color" images because people like to look at color images. But the colors are just guesses. In order to see what Mars "really" would look like to a human, you would have to send a camera that has three sensors, each calibrated to the response of a typical human eye (since humans vary widely in their perception of color as well). And then you would have to compensate for the color of the light on Mars (which also varies over time due to dust and the atmosphere, just like it does on earth at sunset and sunrise).

In other words, saying that "NASA is altering the true color pictures of Mars" is a joke at best. Given the last image on that page, I'm guessing it is meant as a joke." Wm L., Portland OR

Monthly Horoscope

This month is a great time to look back at your life and revisit how you came to be the person you are. The Sun is in Pisces, the sign of sensitivity and receptivity, and Pisces rules the 12th house of the Subconscious.

Uranus has just moved into Pisces, where it will remain until 2011. Uranus is the planet of revolution and change. While the Sun remains nearby this month, life will shift, alter, waffle, tangent, and transform.

The Sun's trine to the South Node introduces your past into the mix. Take a look at the decisions you've made throughout life. Did they play out how you hoped they would? Are you the same person you were then? If not, this is a good time to cut your losses or start in a new direction.

Also think about how you see yourself. Is your self-esteem based on memories, or on the gorgeous face you see in the mirror now? Many times our insecurity was based on the cruelty of other children, throw-away comments from a parent, or images in the media. Look inside, then around you, for validation of your love and worth.

One of the best ways to process all this self-examination will be to write, draw, play music, or express yourself in other creative ways.

Because the Piscean Sun is opposite Jupiter, these changes won't be easy. You'll need to face your demons, balance agendas, accept shortcomings, change beliefs you thought were Truths, accept what you've been in denial about, and admit you've been wrong.

With Mars in Taurus sextile this combination, it's a good time to act deliberately on anything you learn while you're exploring your past. With Mercury traveling alongside the Sun and Uranus, you'll be compelled to say what you've been needing to say. But avoid blurting. Be Impeccible with your Word.

Wandering Star makes gorgeous Pisces Zodiac Jewelry designed to help super-sensitive friends be confident and self-assured.

The Twelfth HouseLearn Astrology:
The 12th House, Subconscious

"Houses" are the 12 pie slices in an astrology chart that astrologers use to interpret horoscopes. They're the realms of life within which your personality traits play out. They're calculated based on the sun's highest position on any given day.

The Twelfth House relates to that which is hidden from view. Ruled by Pisces, spiritual practices like meditation, shamanic vision quests, past life regression, dream therapy, psychic development, and hypnotherapy fit into the twelfth house.

This is the place you go for your privacy. It also shows what you would like to hide from the world, but will need to deal with at some time in your life.

For example, Mercury in the twelfth house is often the child who is told that he/she talks too much, so learns to be seen and not heard. However, as the child gets older, they must learn to communicate all over again.

The twelfth house is where we want to escape from the world, and this can include alcoholism, drug addiction, or any time a person lives excessively in their fantasy world. In the twelfth house, you need to look at the shadows of your inner being in order to bring forth your connection to the One Source of all that is. This energy can be used positively through contemplative spiritual practice or other forms of self-analysis.

Photography, the ocean, and secret societies are associated with the twelfth house, as are prisons, hospitals, and psychiatric facilities.

Cool Customer Quotes

"Thank you for the Mother-of-Pearl Health bracelet. I have been fighting a migraine all day and it never did develop. Usually when they get started they become full blown. It seems to be a little better since I put the bracelet on. I lose so much of my life to migraines. It will be interesting to see about the relationship one too. lol... I will keep you posted. Thank you for everything."

And for those of you who have read this far:

I was saving this for the Cancer newsletter, but Quizno's new copy-cat ads forced my hand (at least the song has an obvious Neptunian influence...). This is one of our favorite-ever internet animations, and it has a huge following. On first listen you'll be laughing, and after the third listen you'll find yourself singing it in the shower. Presenting, "We Like the Moon" by Joel and Alex Veitch.
