The Transit of Venus and the Sun!
On June 8, 2004, you'll be able to witness a rare astronomical
phenomenon: Venus will transit the Sun! It will move across the Sun
in silhouette, blocking 1 tenth of 1% of the Sun's light.
The last Venus eclipse was on December 6, 1882! No one
alive has seen Venus cross the face of the Sun. The next transit will
be (and of no surprise to some of you) in 2012.
The eclipse can be seen for about 6 hours in Europe, Asia,
and Africa, and for about 2 hours at dawn on the East Coast of the US.
If you'll be watching it, be sure to look through welder's
glass or a projection system - don't look directly at the Sun and go blind!

The transit has astrological meaning too. According to

"Houses" are the 12 pie slices in an astrology
chart that astrologers use to interpret horoscopes. They're the realms
of life within which your personality traits play out. They're calculated
based on the sun's highest position on any given day.
The Third House, ruled by Gemini, contains your siblings,
education, communication, transportation, and self-expression. It helps
you to open your mind to a variety of new ideas, then to mold those thoughts
into a form that can be expressed in the world.
The third house represents ideas and metal acuity. It provides
hints about how you speak and how you learn. Read the sign
on the cusp of your third house to provide information about how you get
your ideas across to the world. For example, a Cancer third house cusp may speak in
words that express feelings and emotions, whereas a Sagittarius cusp may
speak in broad, altruistic, and philosophical concepts.
The third house also represents communication and travel that happen quickly,
such as a one-day workshop, writing a magazine article, or taking a short
weekend trip.
