Neptune Conceals Iran's Intentions
According to European diplomats, the government of Iran is ready
to start up its uranium enrichment program again. The Islamic
nation says that the nuclear fuel is for peaceful purposes, though
the Bush administration doubts that the oil-rich country needs
nuclear fuel for energy, and is secretly pursuing a nuclear weapons
program. This week the U.N. takes up the nuclear non-proliferation
treaty, which Iran signed.
Iran's current government
was born on April 1, 1979
(3:00 pm; Tehran**) when
the Sun was in militant
Aries and placed in the
ninth house of religion.
The Sun, symbolizing the
national leadership, is
blessed with a sense of
divine righteousness by
virtue of a trine to Neptune,
while the Sun opposite
Pluto shows an awareness
of powerful enemies.
Mars in Pisces and Mars
square Neptune is a double
message, and blends military
efforts with secrecy. Transiting
Pluto recently turned retrograde
before squaring Iran's
Mars, but will return soon
to activate this dynamic.
That this horoscope is
a true reflection of current
events can be seen from
transiting Neptune's current
conjunction with the Descendant.
Neptune here befogs and
conceals Iran's intentions.
Iran's government is generally
supported by its people
in the quest for nuclear
weapons, but elections
scheduled for June 17 may
change the momentum. Iran's
national stability is under
periodic challenge with
unpredictable Uranus in
the fourth house. During
the first week of June
this Uranus is under major
activation (by an opposition
from the progressed Moon),
which should bring some
unexpected and perhaps
shocking events, most likely
regarding the election.
Mary Kay Letourneau, Aquarian Extraordinaire
Last week Mary Kay Letourneau
(43) and her former sixth grade lover Vili Fualaau (now 22)
confirmed that they plan to get married. Their case shocked
and divided the nation*, but now they just want people to see
for themselves that they do love each other - this after she
spent the seven years in prison for statutory rape, and remains
listed as a sex offender.
Mary Kay Letourneau was
born during a major planetary
alignment in Aquarius (January
29, 1962; Tustin, CA; time
unknown), one that psychic
Jeanne Dixon equated with
the birth of the Second
Coming, or the Anti-Christ
(she wasn't sure). Looking
beyond Dixon's religious
filter, this alignment
has brought us some interesting
characters, including Jordan's
King Abdullah ibn Hussein,
actress Jennifer Jason
Leigh, singer Sheryl Crow,
and Survivor castoff Michael
Skupin.
Mary Kay was born with
the Sun conjunct romantic
Venus, and the two square
Neptune. This configuration
is highly artistic and
forever seeking the perfect
love affair. Mary Kay and
Vili became friends after
she recognized his artistic
talent. Yet with illusionary
Neptune's hard aspect,
self-deception and disappointment
are common problems. Both
Mary Kay's father and her
husband became fallen heroes
when their own adulterous
affairs became public.
Currently, transiting Jupiter
is forming a favorable
trine to her Sun, as she
enjoys the attention and
feels optimistic about
her future. In July transiting
Saturn will oppose her
Mars-Saturn conjunction,
bringing a reality check
into focus. For a woman,
this difficult passage
tends to foment trouble
from men, and whether that's
from her young lover, or
together they face extreme
social pressures, we will
watch and see.
Katie Holmes, TC's New Girl
Superstar
Tom Cruise will soon be appearing in the much anticipated "War
of the Worlds", but last week starwatchers were buzzing about
his new flame, "Batman Begins" star Katie Holmes. Publicists
from both camps revealed that the two have been dating for a couple
of weeks, and according to one tabloid report, Tom and Katie booked
into a ritzy $3,000/night hotel in Rome.
Katie Holmes was born an ethical
Sagittarius (December 18, 1978;
Toledo, OH; time unknown),
with her Moon in regal Leo.
Katie's Venus in Scorpio is
strongly placed by virtue of
the many aspects to other placements.
The conjunction with Uranus
gives a sexual magnetism that
comes across clearly on-screen,
while the supportive sextiles
to Saturn and Pallas in Capricorn
(Saturn's sign) give her depth
and guidance from her elders.
In Katie's life, the elder
role has fallen onto her father,
who is also her lawyer, and
tends to chase away would-be
boyfriends. The Capricorn-Saturn
influence on her effusive sexuality
(Venus-Uranus) has tempered
her willingness to be intimate
without the sanction of marriage.
This moral principle is a deeply
personal challenge, and can
be seen astrologically by her
Venus squaring Juno, the marriage
asteroid.
At the moment, transiting Neptune
is conjunct her Juno (and square
her Venus), highlighting this
no-sex dilemma. Neptune is
a master at dissolving firm
boundaries, and last week Tom
played his part by sending
her jewelry, roses, and 40
Armani outfits. In any case,
with or without Tom's attention,
we should be seeing much more
of Katie Holmes as transiting
Pluto is nearing her Sun, which
is often a transformative shift
into fame.
