Interpretations of current shared energies are based on a
holographic analysis of the view of our Solar system from the
perspective of the Earth, specifically from Pacific time zone with
the Eastern time zone added for new and full Moons.

May hosts 16 dynamic aspects: 6 squares, 4 ingresses, 2
occultations, 1 opposition, 1 Rx station, 1 New Moon and 1 Full Moon.
Energies during the month begin with emphasis on self-concern and
self-control. Use your time wisely to seek needs over wants. In the
second week, energies expand into a powerful motivating force that
can better enable you to communicate those needs, and use your inner
power to activate the principle of expansion in your transactions
with others to meet those needs. Approaching mid-month, you may find
that inner emotional needs tend to compete with more vocalized
physical needs, and the latter will most probably gain more
attention. Towards the last week of May, practicality and nurturance
take precedence over purely emotional issues. Clear communication
then becomes most important, and will be emphasized for the remainder
May and early June.

5/6 The challenge is to be conscious, and act responsibly in all
contracts and communications, because those who act rashly will
endure the consequences. Avoid difficulties by being aware of and
discharging your primary responsibilities. Indifference to the needs
of those for whom you are responsible can bring pain to all. Mercury
squares Saturn 10:54 PM, 22:16 Aries/Cancer.

5/5 (Mercury reactivates last month's eclipse point, reminding us
of decisions made around April 8, and giving us further insight into
how to attain peace and inner harmony. Further action is possible in
July.) Eclipse point: 19:06 Aries.

5/7 There is a effort to shed light on mystical or spiritual
issues; or to reveal secrets about liquids or unethical influences.
Extreme personal challenges may compromise one's ability to maintain
self-reliance. Tradition vs. radical change makes us resolute about
the life-direction we wish to travel. Sun squares Neptune, 6:25 PM,
17:34 Taurus/Aquarius.

5/8 New beginnings are possible, and self-discovery can be
initiated. Both inner and outer growth are possible when you become
sensitive to the potential of your own strength. Support a health
regimen with healthy foods and positive attitude. West coast: You can
become a light to others, through clear and meaningful
communications. Reorganizing home business or household processes can
be achieved. East coast: Emphasis focuses on personal patterns, and
actively following your inner values can be healing in relationships.
New Moon 17:52 Taurus, west coast 1:46 AM; east coast 4:46 AM.

5/9 Maintain a loving, cooperative attitude, and in your
discussions, make provisions for win-win solutions. Develop speaking
or writing skills that will improve your personal awareness, and your
interaction with peers. Venus enters Gemini, 9:14 PM.

5/12 A blending of head and heart energies are possible. Logical
thinking can bring about a sense of coordination between the everyday
patterns and inner spiritual meaning. It is possible to bring
spiritual values into practical applications. Mercury enters Taurus,
2:09 AM.

5/15 New directions and goals for independent action can be
undertaken. Interest into various specialty studies like subtle
energies, or artistic endeavors may be initiated. Be cautious
regarding innovative groups or organizations, as they may be volatile
at this time. Mars conjoins Uranus, 4:52 AM, 10:23 Pisces.

5/18 Vocalized ideas can force true activist ideals into the
open. While this energy can bring important issues into public view,
action without prior consideration of consequences can bring about
difficulties that are irreversible. Venus squares Uranus, 9:35 AM,
10:28 Gemini/Pisces.

5/19 An interruption of the expansion process dealing with
nurturance. Stop and take a fresh look at others' needs. You may
develop a course of action towards filling them that can quickly
bypass usual channels and present a completed picture of a practical
design. Moon occults Jupiter 3:06 PM, 9:20 Libra/2:28 South.

5/19 The perspective of spirituality and how it applies to our
lives changes. Illusion and magic may fill your world, or you may
become attuned to dramatic or creative arts. Be aware of possible
deceptions, and hone the perceptive quality of your mind, so that you
can avoid such situations. Neptune turns retrograde, 4:36 PM, 17:36
Aquarius.

5/20 Gemini's main test deals with committing to a singleness of
purpose amidst a horde of activities. A certain restlessness graces
the land, as we look forward to the warmth of the season, eager to
embrace the Solar vitality. Share the joy of the world's natural
beauty with another. A good time to begin a shared creative activity.
Sun enters Gemini 3:47 PM.

5/22 Use dream imagery to create or invent something of value. A
great deal of tension may be building that makes it difficult to
communicate your ideas and objectives. Be patient and do not to tell
all your secrets. Your valuable contribution could be incorporated in
the work of others. Mercury squares Neptune Rx, 1:16 AM, 17:36
Taurus/Aquarius.

5/22 This portion of the dance of the creative planets deals with
desires and values, and developing the ability to attain them. Plans
and values change, and this can be a potent time to visualize the
possible outcomes of what you think you want right now. This is not
final – times and ideas develop and desires can change unexpectedly.
Enjoy all the games of what-if; just don't be disappointed if the
game changes into struggle. Life moves along. Venus squares Mars 6:20
PM, 15:49 Gemini/Pisces.

5/23 This is an expansive time of potential fulfillment with
little restraint. It's important to express the beauty of the world
as you see it. Look for the inherent beauty in the commonplace, or
the good that may come from adversity. West coast: communication or
travel can enhance your experience of this time. East coast: You can
use your natural abilities to promote harmony and balance in shared
experiences. Expanded fulfillment in personal assets is possible.
Full Moon 2:47 Sagittarius/Gemini; West coast 1:18 PM, East coast
4:18 PM. (Moon out of bounds 24:00 S)

5/28 Mental integration flows through being open to new ideas and
the ability to adjust your thoughts to current issues and problems. A
good time to advertise your own talents and virtues. A love of fun
and mischief is possible. Mercury enters Gemini 3:42 AM.

5/29 A new perspective of life may be gained through being
objective. Look closely at people's behavior. Often the facts of
their actions reveal their true beliefs, which may not match their
words. Venus opposes Pluto Rx 2:31 AM, 23:35 Gemini/Sagittarius.

5/31 Take advantage of this disruption of activity to study some
of the magic of women's mysteries. Look below the surface of current
events to gain soulful meaning. Expect unexpected results to usual
routine events. Moon occults Mars 2:38 AM, 21:46 Pisces, 5:25 south.

5/31 Applying sensitivity and insight to others' frustrations can
provide tangible solutions. Your unique manner of presentation can
bring you recognition. Expect people to act impulsively. Be extra
patient with those who seem upset. You can avoid being involved in a
mishap by resolving to keep calm. Sun squares Uranus 6:57 PM, 10:41
Gemini/Pisces.

May 2005 Symbolism

May houses the last portion of the sign Taurus and the first
part of Gemini, which this year begins on May 20.

The Month of May was named for Maia Majestas, the grandmother
goddess of spring, mother of the Roman god, Mercury (Gr. Hermes), and
chief goddess of the Seven Sisters (Pleiades). Other goddesses are
honored in May: Maya, mother source of the Buddha; the Greek goddess
Rhea, mother of Zeus and other Olympians; and Cybele, oracular
priestess and Anatolian Mountain Mother. May is traditionally the
month of fertility and procreation in all nature religions. May first
marks the hand fasting, between the Mother Goddess and God, the
mystical union between the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine,
which results in the offspring, Consciousness, and supports the
fruitfulness of the growing season.

The gemstone of May is the green emerald, said to improve
psychic powers, sharpen intellect, intuition and memory. It is also
reported to improve learning ability and communication, and to heal
the nervous system. The emerald is associated with the planet Mercury
and the sense of smell. May's color is green, for abundance, growth,
fertility and prosperity. The plant sacred to May is the Hawthorne,
also known as the May Tree or Whitethorn, which blooms in May.
From sunset to sunset on April 30/May 1 we celebrate the
festival of Beltane, bel=good or bright, taine=fire. The fiery nature
of the Sun will reach the midpoint between the spring equinox and the
summer solstice on May 5th. This opens a connection between the
personal and the communal -- the seasonal and celestial levels that
can offer purification and healing for those willing to let go of
destructive habits and behaviors and to open up to new ideals and
attitudes. Beltane is one of the eight sacred nature festivals, based
on the apparent movement of the Sun as it defines the seasons of the
year. Many religious holy days begin with sundown on the previous
calendar day. This is based on a passage in the Old Testament,
Genesis, which reads, "The evening and the morning were the first
day."

May 1, 1881 was the birthday of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. A
Taurean holographic thinker who presented the Unity of Natural and
Human Consciousness concept.

May 2 is Mawlid al-Nabi, celebrating the birthday of
Muhammad, another Taurean and founder of Islam, born in 570 AD.
Celebrated by many Muslims as a great event of inner joy and
happiness, they recount the life of the Prophet, including his
forgiveness for even his bitterest enemies, and his triumphs through
Allah's mercy over the hearts of men.

On the morning of May 5 the annual Eta Aquarids meteor shower
will grace the sky. The peak will be sometime between midnight and
the crescent Moonrise (just before dawn). Expect 40 to 50 meteors
each hour, made up from dust particles from Halley's comet. Meteors
are said to be gifts of Light from Angels. The radiant (source) is in
the neck of the Water Bearer, the constellation of Aquarius.
May 5 recalls the victory of the brave but outnumbered Mexican Army
over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, which came to be
known simply as "Cinco de Mayo". It came to represent a symbol of
national unity, dedication, and patriotism, and as such is a holiday
that celebrates the spirit of freedom.

This year, the Christian feast of the Ascension of Christ is May 5,
the fortieth day after Easter. The Ascension is the ultimate of
transformative energies, the overcoming of death, which was the
purpose of the life of the Christ.

May 8 the second Sunday in May is Mother's Day, originally a festival
that honored the ancient Grecian goddess Rhea, mother of the gods, as
well as Cybele, Roman mother goddess. In 17th century England, the
fourth Sunday in Lent was known as Mothering Sunday. In the US, a day
to honor mothers was first issued by the governor of West Virginia in
1910, a result of a letter-writing campaign started by Anna M. Jarvis
in honor of her mother. A congressional joint resolution was passed
on May 8, 1914 making it a national holiday. An International
Mother's Day Association was incorporated on December 12, 1912. A red
carnation means that mother is still living; a white carnation stands
for a mother who has passed on.

" Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide
forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."
- Elizabeth Stone

May 15 is the Christian feast of the Pentecost also referred
to as Whit Sunday. It is the Christian celebration of integration and
consecration, when the Holy Spirit filled Christ's disciples with Its
gifts revealing in the forms of tongues of fire and rushing winds.
This takes place seven weeks after Easter, completing the holy
season. It has become a traditional day of baptism and confirmation.

May 15 is sacred to the goddess Maia and to Vesta, goddess of
the hearth. (The Ides of the months, March, May, July and October
fall on the 15th – Ides of all other months fall on the 13th). On
this day, Vestal Virgins, Vesta's temple priestesses performed a
ritual that addressed the regulation of the coming summer's water
supply, the basis of support for all life. In ancient days, the
temple handmaidens and oracle-priestesses managed resources, such as
calculating festival calendars, as well as acting as intermediary
between divinities and the populace.

This year on May 20th, the Sun enters Gemini, sign of the twins. This
sign has held great spiritual significance from ancient times: The
constellation Gemini, in the Pleiades holds the symbolism of the
twins, Castor and Pollux. Castor was mortal (son of Leda and
Tyndareus) and Pollux immortal (son of Leda and Zeus). Myth tells us
that a set of twins included one mortal and one immortal, symbolizing
our dual nature. Over the millennia, the star Castor has diminished
in brightness, whereas Pollux has gained considerably in brilliance,
reminiscent of the words of John the Baptist, comparing himself to
the Christ, "He must increase, but I must decrease. He that cometh
from above is above all: he that is of the Earth is earthly, and
speaketh of the Earth…" (St. John, III, 30-31) This grand Geminian
dichotomy speaks to the natural increasing potency of our spiritual
life and the decrease in power of the physical life.

May 22, 2005 is Trinity Sunday, the first Sunday after
Penticost. This celebrates the Triune Power of the Christian Godhead,
instituted in the 14th century by Pope John XXII.

The May 23 Full Moon is the Wesak Moon, also called the
Buddhic Moon. This marks the celebration of Buddha's enlightenment
under the Bodhi tree, and the yearly return of the Buddha to bless
our world. All people are invited to join the gathering of souls to
affirm the Divine plan for our planet and all humanity. Many groups
conduct ritual celebrations at the time of the full Moon to awaken
higher consciousness toward blending all Earth beings into a united
whole. They ask for wisdom, love, knowledge and the spiritual
vitalization of humanity during the coming year. Wesak is the ancient
festival of Unity Consciousness that transcends all religion and
belief systems, joining people of diverse beliefs by basic ideas that
all share. In Native American tradition, May's full Moon is known as
the Corn Planting Moon.

Samuel F. B. Morse inaugurated the first telegraph message
between Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD on May 24, 1844; and
Alexander Graham Bell sent his first successful telephone
transmission on June 2, 1875 in Boston, MA. Success in both
communication devices was achieved with the Sun in Gemini.

May 31 is Memorial Day in the United States. Memorial Day was
first celebrated on May 30, 1868 to remember and honor men who died
in the Civil War by decorating their graves. It was known then
as "Decoration Day." Since then, the holiday is kept to memorialize
all servicemen who fought and died in defense of our country. May
seems to be a month of remembrance, but it does not have to be full
of sadness, but of honor and esteem; it is an excellent time to
recognize and appreciate the attributes of honor and bravery in our
living associates as well.

May 12, two weeks before the beginning of Solar Gemini is
World Communication Day. This was first instituted on 7 May 1967,
after the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council. The Church clearly "…
wished to make her own contribution to the orderly development of the
world of social communications: a contribution of inspiration,
encouragement, exhortation, guidance and cooperation.", Which became
a repeated observance. This year's theme is especially timely:
"…the Internet radically redefines a person's psychological
relationship to time and space. Attention is riveted on what is
tangible, useful, instantly available; the stimulus for deeper
thought and reflection may be lacking. Yet human beings have a vital
need for time and inner quiet to ponder and examine life and its
mysteries, and to grow gradually into a mature dominion of themselves
and of the world around them. Understanding and wisdom are the fruit
of a contemplative eye upon the world, and do not come from a mere
accumulation of facts, no matter how interesting. They are the result
of an insight which penetrates the deeper meaning of things in
relation to one another and to the whole of reality."

In memoriam of Pope John Paul II, from the text of his message for
the 2005 celebration.
