Hillary Clinton's Wisdom
The day after Barack Obama announced he was setting up an exploratory
committee for his presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton hit the
airwaves to report on her recent trip to Iraq. By week's end, she
too had announced her entry into the growing field of presidential
contenders. Now, the Democratic primary has begun, especially the
race for campaign donations.
Hillary Clinton's horoscope (October 26, 1947; 8:00 am; Chicago,
IL) features Mercury conjunct her Scorpio Ascendant, and exactly
square Saturn in the ninth house of religion, law, and foreign
affairs. Under the influence of her second Saturn Return, Ms. Clinton
can be heard repeatedly advising "wisdom", a higher expression
of the Mercury-Saturn configuration, and a subtle critique of Obama's
relative inexperience.
In September 2007, Saturn enters Virgo, and then heads straight
for her Midheaven. Saturn will pass three times over her Midheaven,
as well as her progressed Mars, which is located at six degrees
Virgo. This degree is highly significant, since it's also the location
of Barack Obama's Pluto, the ruler of his horoscope. Saturn first
hits six degrees Virgo in late October, when we can expect a severe
testing period between these top candidates.
Saturn, in its role as the Grim Reaper, will be shaking out the
field. Saturn's second run over six degrees arrives in early February
2008 at the height of the primaries, by which time one of these
two will likely emerge victorious. By July 2008, Saturn's third
pass over this degree will likely focus the contest between the
presumed Democratic nominee and John McCain, whose Sun is (oddly
enough) located at six degrees Virgo.
Solar Eclipse over Iran
Last week, in an interview with an Israeli newspaper, Jordan's King
Hussein II revealed that he wants his country to develop a peaceful
nuclear program. This stance is widely seen as political posturing
since the West has been unable to halt Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon has begun a military build-up in the Persian
Gulf to act as a warning against Iran's defiant government.
One of the basic techniques astrologers use to find global troublespots
is by relocating a Solar Eclipse to a nation's capital. On March
19 we will have a particularly menacing Solar Eclipse because the
New Moon closely squares Pluto. When locating the eclipse chart to
Tehran, this astro-event takes place a few minutes before sunrise
(at 6:13 am), and Pluto is exactly conjunct the Midheaven.
The U.S. may be directly involved since transiting Mars at 16º Aquarius
is exactly opposite the U.S. Midheaven. The actual events around
the date of this eclipse may seem like hostile engagement, or perhaps
nothing particular at all. However, this Solar Eclipse sets up huge
explosive potential, which may be released shortly afterwards when
the eclipse point is triggered by a fast-moving planet.
For example, the Solar Eclipse of June 21, 2001 was activated on
September 11, when transiting Mars opposed the eclipse degree. Watch,
then, around May 11 when transiting Mars forms a conjunction with
the location of the March 19 Eclipse. This date, plus or minus a
few days, is celestially primed for violent or military conflict,
and the kind of event that marks an historic turning point.
Prince William and Kate Middleton
Prince William has been hanging out with Kate Middleton ever since
they met six years ago at the University of St. Andrews. Kate's
status as William's girlfriend has made her the object of intense
media scrutiny, and more alarmingly, of predatory paparazzi. Prince
Charles recently hired two bodyguards to protect her, and has mounted
a legal case to protect her from their escalating harassment.
Prince William (June 21, 1982; 9:03 pm; London) was born during
the New Moon in Cancer, which is found in his seventh house of
partners. Under this influence, he finds personal identity through
his closest relationships, which include family members (Cancer)
as well as his significant other. The marriage asteroid Juno conjunct
his Ascendant is another signal that he identifies strongly with
partnership.
Kate Middleton (January 9, 1982; Reading, UK; time unknown) was
born with her Sun in responsible Capricorn, where it squares Saturn
in Libra. This double influence feels the pressure of authority,
whether parental or societal, and is driven to find approval and
popularity (Libra). Kate's school record is impeccable; she excelled
in sports, and by all accounts was exceedingly well-liked.
Kate's Venus in Aquarius is well-aspected, making her an attractive
target for the paparazzi, a hunt which began in earnest nearly
two years ago when predatory Pluto was conjunct her Neptune, the
ruler of photography. With her Sun forming an exact octile (45º)
to freedom-loving Uranus, Kate no doubt feels hounded and oppressed
by the media frenzy. In early April, transiting Uranus squares
her Juno, when she will (at least temporarily) try and break away
from her role as the future king's girlfriend.
